TRCN Stabilizes Teacher Registration Portal After Issues

The Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), represented by registrar Dr. Ronk Soyombo, announced that its registration portal is now stable following disruptions caused by technical issues in December 2026.

During a briefing in Abuja, Dr. Soyombo addressed concerns raised by Nigerian teachers regarding the portal's functionality.

She clarified that the downtime was promptly resolved and dismissed claims of persistent failures as politically motivated. The TRCN is committed to ensuring efficient revenue generation and has acknowledged challenges faced by teachers in accessing the portal due to limited digital literacy.

To bridge this gap, the council is providing alternative registration channels, including physical offices in states, particularly in rural areas with poor internet connectivity. Dr.

Soyombo also mentioned ongoing efforts to launch a mobile application by the end of April to further improve access. She reiterated that all individuals engaged in teaching, whether in early childhood or tertiary education, must register with the TRCN, adhering to the council's mandate.
