Ongoing Legal Battle Over Dr. Tosin Ajayi's Estate

The ongoing legal dispute regarding the estate of Dr. Tosin Ajayi, a renowned physician who passed away in April 2020, has intensified.

Tomisin Ajayi, daughter of Helen Prest Ajayi, is appealing a June 17 ruling by Justice Oluwatoyin Odusanya of the Lagos High Court. This ruling recognized Adenik Oluyemisi Ajayi as the sole lawful widow of the late doctor, dismissing claims made by Helen Prest Ajayi regarding her marital status and the legitimacy of Tomisin Ajayi.

The appeal, filed on June 18, contests the trial court's conclusion that Helen's marriage to Dr. Ajayi was invalid due to a lengthy separation and alleged failure to establish a customary marriage.

The trial court also ruled that Helen was considered a mistress and that Tomisin was born out of wedlock. The legal battle traces back to the aftermath of Dr.

Ajayi's death, with Adenik seeking to administer the estate based on her claim of being the lawful wife.
