Donald Duke Critiques Nigeria's Political Leadership Deficit

Donald Duke, the presidential candidate for the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), expressed concerns about the ongoing frustration within Nigeria's political system since the return to democracy. Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, Duke lamented the country's inability to resolve its leadership deficit, stating that past leaders since 1979 lacked a vision for effective governance.

He announced his candidacy for the 2027 presidential elections, emphasizing his commitment to providing the necessary leadership to address Nigeria's challenges and promote economic transformation. Duke argued that a united opposition could effectively challenge the current administration led by President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming elections.

He warned that without a cohesive strategy, the opposition risks allowing the APC to secure victory, despite its control over more than 30 states. Duke's remarks underscore the need for political unity among opposition parties to present a formidable challenge in the electoral landscape.
