Presidency Denies Poisoning Attempt on President Tinubu

The Presidency has categorically denied allegations regarding an attempted poisoning of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, labeling the claims as entirely false. Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, addressed a circulating video that purportedly depicted a security breach involving the President's chef.

This video was described as fabricated. The incident, which prompted the swift intervention of a Special Police Squad, led to heightened security measures within the Presidential Villa.

Preliminary information from security sources indicated that the arrest of a kitchen staff member followed intelligence alerts about suspicious activities related to food preparation. Investigations are ongoing, and the security agencies have urged the public to remain calm, emphasizing that allegations do not imply guilt until due process is followed.

Temitop Ajayi, another senior special assistant, reiterated that there was no truth to the claims of an attempted poisoning.
