‘Things Have Changed’ – Babachir Lawal Speaks On Supporting Peter Obi

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, discussed his support for Labour Party candidate Peter Obi in the last election, acknowledging that the political landscape has changed since then. Lawal, speaking on Channels Television's Politics Today, emphasized the need for unity in the northern region to support a candidate who understands and can address the challenges faced.

He revealed the formation of the Nigerian People Consultative Political Forum North to promote unity and tackle disunity in the region. Lawal mentioned potential contenders for the 2027 presidential election, including Rotimi Amaechi, Peter Obi, and Atiku Abubakar, stressing that the decision to lead Nigeria should transcend partisan loyalty and ethnic sentiments.

He emphasized the importance of supporting a candidate who can address the issues facing the nation on a national stage.
