Tinubu Appoints Louis Odion As FCCPC Executive Commissioner

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Louis Odion as the Executive Commissioner of Operations at the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC). The appointment was confirmed in a letter dated August 12, 2025, signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.

The letter stated that Odion's appointment was in line with the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission Act 2018. Odion, a seasoned journalist and former special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, will assume his duties in an acting capacity pending confirmation by the Senate.

The SGF congratulated Odion on his appointment and wished him success in his new role. This appointment reflects Tinubu's commitment to strengthening consumer protection and competition in Nigeria.
