Tinubu Appoints Olanrewaju-Smart as Adviser on NASS Matters

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Dr. Wasiu Olanrewaju-Smart as Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives), effective immediately.

This announcement was made on Sunday through a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy. Olanrewaju-Smart succeeds Hon.

Ibrahim Olanrewaju, who resigned to pursue an elective office in his home state. Dr.

Olanrewaju-Smart is a distinguished scholar and public policy expert, holding a PhD in Educational Management from Lead City University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University. He is also an Edward Mason Fellow in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School.

His previous roles include Senior Special Assistant to the President on Intergovernmental Affairs since October 2023 and various positions in the National Assembly, including Chief of Staff to the Speaker. The Presidency expressed confidence in Olanrewaju-Smart's ability to enhance legislative coordination and relations between the Presidency, MDAs, and the House of Representatives.
