Tinubu Approves Ado-Ajan-Ilumoba-Ikole Road Reconstruction

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved the reconstruction of the Ado-Ajan-Ilumoba-Ikole road in Ekiti State, as communicated in a letter dated July 1, 2026. The approval was addressed to the Honourable Minister of Works, Engr.

Dave Umahi, and the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Mr. Zach Adedeji, with a copy sent to Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

The road project is part of the Renewed Hope Infrastructure Project Fund initiated by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The construction is set to commence within seven months and aims to connect the southwestern region to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), providing access to significant institutions such as Afe Babalola University and the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport.

Governor Oyebanji expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for fulfilling his promise to intervene in the road's development, which has been neglected in previous administrations. The Oyebanji administration has focused on upgrading infrastructure, having constructed 285 kilometers of inter-city and intra-city roads over the past three and a half years.
