Tinubu Congratulates Adeleke Before INEC Election Result

President Bola Tinubu congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke prior to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) formally declaring Adeleke the winner of the governorship election. This revelation was made by Accord Party chieftain Pelumi Olajengbesi at the INEC collation centre in Osogbo.

Adeleke secured 511,067 votes across 30 Local Government Areas, defeating All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who garnered 444,815 votes, resulting in a margin of 66,252 votes. Adeleke's strong performance was noted in key areas such as Osogbo, Ede North, and Ife East.

Despite the competitive nature of the election, Olajengbesi stated that while the election was credible, it could not be deemed completely free and fair due to alleged oppression and arrests of opposition supporters. Tinubu's actions were praised for allowing the electoral process to proceed without presidential interference, as he had previously directed INEC and security agencies to ensure a fair election.
