Tinubu Reduces CNG Prices Following Atiku's Promises

Nigerian journalist Rufai Oseni stated that President Bola Tinubu's directive to reduce the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) was a response to Atiku Abubakar, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, who plans to reinstate the fuel subsidy regime if elected in the upcoming 2027 general elections. Oseni referenced Atiku's assertion that the removal of the fuel subsidy by Tinubu's administration has not benefited Nigeria.

He also noted Atiku's commitment to reopening all borders in northern Nigeria to facilitate legitimate businesses. During an appearance on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’ on Friday, Oseni criticized Atiku's repeated promises, suggesting that they lack substance and clarity.

He urged Atiku to provide a detailed plan for his proposals. Despite his criticisms, Oseni acknowledged that Atiku's recent promises played a role in prompting Tinubu's directive on CNG price reduction.
