APC Chieftain Aliyu Defends Tinubu Against Resignation Calls

Farouk Aliyu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed that President Bola Tinubu should not resign from his position. In an interview on Arise Television's morning show on Thursday, Aliyu emphasized that the decision regarding Tinubu's presidency should be left to the Nigerian electorate during the polls in 2027.

He reacted to calls from the opposition for Tinubu to resign, labeling such demands as normal political tactics. Aliyu pointed out that the opposition has not effectively demonstrated their own capabilities, suggesting that their requests for the president to step down are part of a broader political strategy.

He asserted that the ultimate decision regarding the presidency should rest with the people of Nigeria, especially in light of ongoing economic and security challenges facing the country.
