Tinubu Delays Return from Europe Vacation to September 29

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his return to Nigeria from a working vacation in Europe, with his new expected arrival date set for Tuesday, September 29. Initially scheduled to return this weekend, this change marks the second time his return has been delayed since he began his three-week vacation on August 30.

The revised itinerary extends his stay beyond the original period announced. Tinubu's vacation includes communication with Nigerian officials and directing government affairs, with official engagements held in France after his initial stay in London.

His absence has faced criticism from opposition figures, particularly as Vice President Kashim Shettima represented him at the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York. The Presidency maintains that Nigeria is fully represented, with Shettima delivering the national statement.

Tinubu's current vacation is his first major annual leave of 2026, following a previous leave in September 2025.
