Tinubu Completes D’Tigress Rewards Within One Year

President Bola Tinubu confirmed the fulfillment of cash rewards for D’Tigress, Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team, stating it is the first instance where a Federal Government has fully completed a presidential sporting reward package within one year. Each player received the naira equivalent of $100,000, while each official received $50,000, alongside national honors and three-bedroom homes in Abuja.

Tinubu explained that the delay in payments was due to necessary legal processes rather than a lack of commitment. He also provided updates on rewards for the Super Falcons and Super Eagles, noting that the Super Falcons had received their house allocation documents and national honors certificates, with cash rewards being finalized.

Tinubu emphasized the importance of honoring athletes who represent Nigeria, stating, “Our athletes who bring honour to Nigeria deserve more than applause.” He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that athletes who make Nigeria proud are recognized and rewarded.
