RMAFC Completes Salary Review for Tinubu and Officials

The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has finalized its review of salaries and allowances for President Bola Tinubu and other political, public, and judicial office holders. RMAFC Chairman Mohammed Bello Shehu announced this during an interactive session with the Nigerian Guild of Editors in Lagos.

The review is part of the commission's constitutional duty to advise the government on appropriate remuneration. Shehu noted that the review aims to align salaries with current realities and is part of broader reforms to strengthen Nigeria's fiscal system.

He confirmed that the review for judicial office holders has concluded, leading to the enactment of the Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances) Act, 2025. An executive bill for the Political and Public Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances) Act, 2026, is expected to be sent to the National Assembly.

Shehu emphasized that any salary increase must be matched by improved accountability and service delivery. President Tinubu previously announced plans to donate his salaries since May 2023 to support military personnel's families.
