Nasarawa Executes ₦90bn Projects Without Borrowing

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule stated that his administration has successfully executed projects valued at approximately ₦90 billion without incurring debt. He credited this accomplishment to enhanced revenues resulting from economic reforms implemented by President Bola Tinubu's administration.
Sule made these remarks during a visit by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the presidential media team. He contrasted the current financial situation with the challenges faced after he took office in 2019, when the state struggled to secure a ₦5 billion bond for a market construction.
Previously, Nasarawa received between ₦3.8 billion and ₦4.5 billion monthly, but now receives an average of ₦14 billion to ₦16 billion. The governor outlined several projects funded by these increased revenues, including the ₦11.4 billion Kefi flyover and a ₦7.1 billion township dualisation project.
He emphasized the importance of media accountability in reflecting how increased allocations are utilized to improve services and infrastructure.
