Tinubu Requests Senate Approval for Key Nominees

President Bola Tinubu has submitted requests to the Senate for the confirmation of nominees for significant roles in three government institutions. These requests were presented in separate letters read by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, during a plenary session on Tuesday, following a nine-week recess.

Among the nominees is Abdullahi Maikano, proposed as Chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, along with six other nominees for membership of the commission. This request has been referred to the Senate Committee on Finance, which has been tasked with submitting a report within two weeks.

Additionally, Tinubu nominated Sani Ndanusa for the position of non-career Ambassador/High Commissioner, with this nomination sent to the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, also required to report within two weeks. Furthermore, Wakil Bulka has been nominated as a member of the Federal Civil Service Commission, representing Bauchi, Borno, and Yobe states, with this nomination referred to the Senate Committee on Establishment and Public Service, which also has a two-week deadline for its report.
