Tinubu Unveils Tech Strategies to Combat Terrorism

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced technology-driven strategies to combat terrorism, emphasizing the modernization of Nigeria's military during the African Land Forces Forum (ALFF) held at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Stanley Nkwocha, Tinubu highlighted the government's commitment to reviving the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) to boost local military hardware production and reduce dependence on foreign suppliers.

The event featured notable attendees, including former heads of state Yakubu Gowon and Olusegun Obasanjo, and military leaders. Tinubu stressed the importance of adopting advanced technology to improve operational readiness against evolving security threats.

He reaffirmed the administration's dedication to investing in research and development as central to national security. The President praised the Nigerian Army's sacrifices and called for improved welfare for military personnel, underscoring the significance of the ALFF in fostering regional cooperation against common security threats.
