Tinubu Promises Tech-Driven Solutions for Security

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reaffirmed his administration's commitment to tackling insecurity by deploying emerging technologies and intelligence-driven operations. Speaking at the grand final of the Nigerian Army Day celebration and the 2026 African Land Forces Forum in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, he highlighted investments in modern military equipment, personnel training, and operational improvements.

Vice President Kashim Shettima supported Tinubu's governance approach to building military capacity to address evolving security threats. Tinubu stressed the importance of research and innovation in local military hardware production, aiming to revitalize the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria to strengthen Nigeria's ability to manufacture defense equipment and reduce reliance on foreign suppliers.

He described the African Land Forces Forum as a platform for enhancing defense diplomacy and regional cooperation. Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara hosted the event, urging the federal government to improve the welfare of military personnel.
