Tobi Amusan to Compete at Prefontaine Classic Hurdles

Tobi Amusan is scheduled to compete in the women's 100m hurdles at the Prefontaine Classic on July 4, marking the ninth stop of the Wanda Diamond League season at Hayward Field. She will face Olympic champion Masai Russell, two-time world champion Daniel Williams, and world championship bronze medallist Grace Stark.

Amusan has made history at Hayward Field, setting a world record of 12.12 seconds at the 2022 World Championships. She returned the following year to claim the Diamond League title, completing a run of three consecutive crowns from 2021 to 2023.

Amusan's coach, Glen Mill, is from Jamaica. Notably, she will not race at the World Championships in September 2025.

Russell arrives in strong form, having secured Olympic gold and her first Diamond League win in Silesia last August with a personal best of 12.19 seconds. The 2026 Diamond League season will commence in Doha on May 8 and conclude in Brussels on September 4-5.
