Tobi Amusan Claims Diamond League Victory in Paris

Tobi Amusan, the world record holder in the women's 100m hurdles, achieved a remarkable victory at the Diamond League event in Paris, clocking a time of 12.27 seconds. This performance was accomplished with a legal tailwind of 0.7m/s and a reaction time of 0.135 seconds.

Amusan's victory places her ahead of American athletes Grace Stark and Alaysha Johnson, who finished second and third with times of 12.38 seconds and 12.39 seconds, respectively. Dutch athlete Visser finished fourth with a season-best time of 12.41 seconds.

According to the Nigerian Sports Commission, Amusan's win represents a significant milestone in her season, as she continues to build momentum ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, scheduled from July 23 to August 2. Amusan aims to defend her 100m hurdles crown, which she previously won at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, in 2018 and Birmingham, UK, in 2022.
