Manchester City Sets Record with €526.2m Transfer Spend

Manchester City has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first club to exceed €500 million in transfer spending during a single window, with a total of €526.2 million in the 2026/27 summer transfer window. This record was confirmed by Transfermarkt on Thursday, surpassing Liverpool's previous record of €483 million set in the 2025/26 summer window.

Key signings contributing to this total included Iliman Ndiaye from Everton for €70 million and Enzo Fernández from Chelsea for €145 million, which matched the British transfer record. Other notable acquisitions included Elliot Anderson for €135 million and Ayyoub Bouaddi for €95 million.

Despite this significant expenditure, Manchester City generated €337 million from player sales, resulting in a net spend of €189 million. The record-setting spending spree occurred amidst a broader trend of heavy financial activity in European football, with Chelsea also making substantial investments in the same window.
