Senior Police Officer DCP Muhammad Passes Away in Zamfara

DCP Muhammad, a senior officer in the Nigeria Police Force, died at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Gusau. He was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed ailment.

A statement from the Zamfara State Police Command's spokesperson, DSP Yazid Abubakar, described Muhammad as a dedicated and professional officer, emphasizing that his death represents a major loss to the Zamfara State Police Command, his colleagues, and the broader Nigeria Police Force. The Commissioner of Police for Zamfara State, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello, expressed condolences to Muhammad's family, relatives, and colleagues, praying for Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.

The burial is scheduled for 2 p.m. on the same day at Sheikh Ibn Umar Kanoma, following Islamic rites. The command extended its condolences and prayers for the peaceful repose of DCP Muhammad's soul.
