Tinubu Unveils Tech Strategy to Combat Insecurity

President Bola Tinubu revealed a technology-driven strategy to address insecurity in Nigeria during the 2026 African Land Forces Forum held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He affirmed his administration's commitment to deploying emerging technologies to counter contemporary security threats and enhance the operational readiness of the Nigerian Army.

Tinubu emphasized the importance of sustained research and development efforts as part of the government's strategy to advance technology and strengthen home-grown innovations. He acknowledged the role of the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) in modernizing the military and creating job opportunities.

The event, which was a collaboration with the African Land Forces Forum, also featured remarks from Vice President Kashim Shettima and Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen.

Waidi Shaibu, who expressed gratitude for the support of the administration. The forum aimed to foster regional and global cooperation in defense and security strategies across Africa.
