Nigerian Winger Philip Otele Joins SV Hamburg on Loan from FC Basel

Nigerian winger Philip Otele has completed a loan move from FC Basel to SV Hamburg in the Bundesliga. The 26-year-old, who previously played for Al Wehda in the UAE, scored 18 goals and provided eight assists in 53 competitive matches for Basel.

Hamburg paid a €1.5m loan fee and has the option to make the deal permanent for an additional €4.5m. Otele will wear the number 27 jersey at his new club and is also named in Nigeria's provisional squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
