Abuja's Rural Infrastructure Transformation Under Wike

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), led by Minister Nyesom Wike, has embarked on a transformative initiative to improve rural infrastructure in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). This initiative aims to enhance road networks across various area councils, including Abaji, Kwali, Kuje, Bwari, and Gwagwalada.

The construction and rehabilitation of roads, such as the Kuje-Gwagwalada dual carriageway and new access roads linking communities to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, are designed to facilitate better access to markets, healthcare, and educational facilities. These developments are expected to significantly reduce transport costs for farmers, improve their income, and decrease post-harvest losses.

The projects also aim to stimulate economic activity, attract private investment, and enhance access to social services. Dr.

Jumai Ahmadu, Director of Reform Coordination and Service Improvement at FCTA, noted that these infrastructure improvements represent a commitment to inclusive development and aim to connect rural communities with urban markets, fostering economic integration.
