Transportation Varsity Matriculates 529 Students

The Federal University of Transportation Daura (FUTD) in Katsina State recently held its second matriculation ceremony, welcoming 529 new students. During the event, Minister of Transportation Senator Said Alkali highlighted the Nigerian government's commitment to producing skilled professionals for the transportation industry, particularly in the revitalized railway sector.

The university aims to address the lack of human capacity in the transportation sector through education, training, and research. The Special Adviser to the Minister, Jibril Umar Alkali, emphasized the government's efforts to build a new generation of transportation professionals who can compete globally.

Vice Chancellor Professor Umar Adam Katsayal and Chairman of the governing council Hon Wahab Akanni Owokoniran also expressed their commitment to ensuring the university's success in providing specialized education in transportation. Dignitaries present at the event included heads of tertiary institutions, industry leaders, and representatives of the Emirs of Katsina and Daura Emirates.
