Troops Foil Terror Attack in Kaduna, Rescue Victims

On September 10, 2026, troops from Sector 1 of the Joint Task Force (North West), Operation Fansan Yamma, responded to a distress call regarding terrorist activities in Unguwan Gardago Village, Kaduna North Local Government Area. The terrorists had robbed locals of motorcycles and mobile phones and abducted a civilian to guide their escape.

The troops mounted an ambush along the terrorists’ withdrawal route, successfully engaging them and forcing their retreat. During the operation, they recovered three motorcycles, a PKT machine gun working mechanism, and components of a pump-action firearm.

Unfortunately, the abducted civilian was killed by the terrorists, and his body was later recovered and returned to his relatives. Additionally, a separate operation in Zamfara State resulted in the rescue of three kidnapped victims, although specific details about this operation were not provided.
