Troops Repel Terrorist Attack in Kwara, Two Injured

On March 25, 2023, at 6:55 PM, troops from the Savannah Shield operation successfully repelled a terrorist attack in Oro-Ago, located in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State. The swift response of the troops, who were deployed from a patrol base, was supported by local vigilantes acting on credible intelligence regarding the impending attack.

During the engagement, the combined team successfully forced the assailants to withdraw, preventing further destruction in the community. However, two civilians sustained gunshot injuries during the encounter and were immediately evacuated to the General Hospital in Omu Aran for medical attention.

Following the incident, troops maintained a strong presence in the area and conducted sustained patrols to prevent any possible regrouping of the attackers, reassuring residents of their safety.
