Troops Rescue 16 Civilians from Kidnappers in Zamfara

On August 28, troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA successfully rescued 16 civilians from separate attempted abductions in Zamfara and repelled a terrorist attack in Sokoto. Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the Media Information Officer for the Joint Task Force, reported that troops responded to a distress call in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara, where terrorists attempted to abduct residents.

The troops' intervention forced the terrorists to flee, resulting in the rescue of four civilians. Later that same day, troops engaged in another operation around Kwanoni Village in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara, where they confronted terrorists attempting to abduct passengers in two vehicles.

The troops' engagement led to the successful rescue of all 12 passengers, with no casualties reported among the troops during these operations.
