Troops Discover Illegal Oil Refinery in Rivers State

On Saturday at 12:00 PM, troops from the 16 Brigade Garrison and personnel from the 5 Battalion conducted an anti-crude oil theft operation in the Orashi Nation Forest, located in the Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State. During their patrol, they uncovered equipment believed to be associated with illegal crude oil refining activities.

The recovered items included a large oven drum, a large coolant, two small oven drums, a small coolant, long galvanized pipes, and two sacks containing crude oil. The operation is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to dismantle illegal refining camps and curb crude oil theft, which is critical for protecting national assets in the Niger Delta region.
