Trump Administration Expands Denaturalization Efforts on Foreign-Born Americans

The Trump administration, led by President Donald Trump, has intensified efforts to denaturalize foreign-born Americans by significantly expanding the denaturalization program under the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), a part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

This initiative involves reassigning and deploying personnel across field offices nationwide to identify naturalized citizens for potential citizenship revocation. The administration plans to supply USCIS with 100-200 denaturalization cases monthly, focusing on fraud in the naturalization process.

The Department of Justice has reportedly instructed prioritizing denaturalization cases, targeting individuals deemed national security risks or accused of defrauding government programs. USCIS also plans to reform the naturalization civic test to ensure applicants understand U.S. history, governance, and civic responsibilities.

This move aligns with Trump's stance on citizenship and immigration, emphasizing stricter standards and a streamlined investigation process.
