Trump Vows Military Action for U.S. Interests at UN

At the UN General Assembly, President Donald Trump declared his commitment to utilizing "unmatched" U.S. military power to safeguard American interests in Latin America. He stated, “The United States will no longer permit threats to America to gain a foothold anywhere in the Western Hemisphere.” Trump specifically accused Cuba of fostering connections with left-wing groups in the U.S.

His speech also addressed the situation in Iran, condemning its regime and emphasizing the need to prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons, particularly in light of the October 7 attack on Israel by Hamas, which is allied with Iran. Additionally, Trump was scheduled to meet with Delcy Rodriguez, the interim leader of Venezuela, on the sidelines of the UN meeting later that day.
