Tuggar's Supporters Demand APC Review Bauchi Primary Process

Supporters of Yusuf Tuggar, including members of the Yusuf Maitama Tuggar Foundation, are calling on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to review the governorship primary selection process in Bauchi State in light of the upcoming 2027 general elections. The appeal was made in a formal letter to the APC national leadership, challenging the legitimacy of the primary process that allegedly did not occur.

Shehu Barau, a representative of the group, emphasized that the declaration of a winner was unfounded and unjustified, raising concerns about potential dissatisfaction among party members and the risk of defections. The foundation argues that the absence of a primary election could weaken the APC's chances in the 2027 elections.

Barau also criticized former governor Moham Abubakar for providing contradictory statements regarding the party's candidacy. The group is advocating for an independent opinion poll to gauge support for candidates and is urging the APC leadership to uphold democratic principles and address the situation urgently.
