PDP Faction Backs G-100 for 2027 Elections Against APC

The Kabiru Tanimu Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially endorsed the G-100 initiative aimed at creating an all-opposition front in preparation for the 2027 general elections. This endorsement was communicated in a statement by the National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, following the inaugural G-100 meeting held on Monday at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.

The meeting convened representatives from various opposition parties to explore collaboration and the potential for a unified candidate against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The PDP faction's decision was motivated by the economic difficulties faced by Nigerians under President Bola Tinubu's APC government.

Turaki emphasized that their participation is grounded in principles of transparency, equality, and data-driven decisions, aiming to provide credible leadership to alleviate poverty and insecurity. The meeting resulted in an agreement to initiate structured negotiations on opposition cooperation, including the establishment of committees to develop proposals for unity and a common presidential candidate.
