Two Convicted Kidnappers Sentenced to Death in Ekiti

On April 22, 2022, the Ekiti State High Court, presided over by Chief Judge Lekan Ogunmoy, sentenced two men, Ibrahim Abubakar and Abdullahi Abubakar, to death by hanging for the kidnapping of Omoboad Adesina, a staff member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). The court case was recorded under suit number 124C/2022.

The third defendant, Usman Abubakar, was discharged as the court found insufficient evidence linking him to the abduction. The Department of State Services (DSS) was commended for its diligent prosecution, which proved the case beyond reasonable doubt.

The judgment reflects the DSS's commitment to addressing violent crime and ensuring that perpetrators of kidnapping and related offenses face the full weight of the law.
