Two Nigerians Charged with Murder in Ghana

Two Ghana-based Nigerians, Godwin Nwafor and Daniel Victor, are facing trial for the murder of their compatriot, Nkemujika Uzorchuku. The Ghana Police Service reported that Uzorchuku's body was discovered in a pool of blood inside a bedroom in Sanzirigu, Tamal, on Saturday.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim had sustained a deep cut to the forehead and had a towel stuffed in his mouth. The police found evidence suggesting the room had been ransacked.

Following the discovery, the suspects were arrested while allegedly attempting to flee to Togo. During interrogation, they reportedly admitted to conspiring to murder Uzorchuku, claiming it was related to withholding proceeds from internet fraud activities.

The police recovered several items believed to be stolen from the victim's room, including mobile phones, a laptop, a tablet, jewelry, and personal documents. The suspects remain in police custody and are expected to be arraigned in court as investigations continue.
