Two Arrested for Murder of Akwa Ibom Man, Nsikak Joshua

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command arrested two suspects, Otobong Nelson and Utib Clement, in connection with the murder of 26-year-old Nsikak Joshua. The incident, which occurred on July 14, 2026, involved the victim's father, Eker, alleging that his son was beaten to death by Nelson and accomplices, including Inemesit Robert and Victor Robert.

Following the complaint, police investigations revealed that the suspects had forcibly buried Joshua's body in a shallow grave within their compound and threatened against reporting the incident. On July 17, 2026, the prime suspect, Nelson, confessed during interrogation, admitting to the assault and providing details about the burial.

The police have since exhumed the victim's remains for autopsy and have intensified efforts to apprehend any remaining suspects involved in the crime. The police condemned the act as barbaric and unlawful, warning against any conspiracies to conceal evidence.
