Falconets Begin Training for 2026 U20 Women's World Cup

The Nigeria U20 Women's National Team, the Falconets, has commenced training camp in Abuja ahead of the 2026 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup, which will take place in Poland from September 5 to 27. A total of 28 players have been invited, with 16 already in camp, as the team aims to build momentum for the global tournament.

The technical crew, led by head coach Mose Aduk, has initiated intense training sessions to fine-tune the squad for a promising campaign. The Falconets secured their qualification for the World Cup with an impressive performance, winning their qualifying matches with a 5-0 aggregate against Rwanda in the second round and edging Senegal 3-2 on aggregate in the penultimate round.

This achievement extends Nigeria's remarkable record as the only African nation to qualify for every edition of the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup since its inception in 2002. The Falconets have previously finished as runners-up in 2010 and 2014 and reached the semi-finals in 2012.
