UI Lecturer Wins 2025 Rahamon Bello Best Thesis Award for Urban Landscape Study

Dr. Oluseyi Obateru, a lecturer at the University of Ibadan, has been awarded the 2025 Rahamon Bello Best Thesis Award for his Ph.D. thesis on the impact of urban landscape structures on ecosystem services in Nigeria's Guinea Savanna ecoregion.

The research, supervised by prominent professors, contributes significantly to the field of urban environmental studies. Additionally, Tholithemba Nombulelo Shang from South Africa received the first runner-up award for her thesis on environmental harmony practices in African healing systems.
