UK Implements Security Measures for Tinubu's Visit

The United Kingdom has implemented temporary road closures and airspace restrictions in Windsor ahead of the scheduled state visit of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, set to begin on March 18. President Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi, are expected to arrive in the UK on Wednesday, March 18, where they will be received by King Charles III at Windsor Castle.

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, in coordination with the Royal Household and security agencies, has announced extensive security arrangements for this high-profile visit. Chief Superintendent Adrian Hall stated that the airspace restrictions will be in effect from March 18, 7:00 AM to 11:59 PM, as part of broader security operations.

The police will deploy armed officers and install hostile vehicle mitigation barriers, along with an extensive CCTV network to monitor activities in the area. Road closures and parking restrictions are expected to cause temporary disruptions to traffic movement around Windsor starting Tuesday, March 17.
