UK Visas and Immigration Launches Tool for Student Visa Wait Times

On October 2, 2026, UK Visas and Immigration issued a reminder for student visa applicants to utilize the government's official online tool to check the processing times for their applications. The agency's post on its official X account directed applicants to the visa processing time checker, which provides estimated waiting periods based on the application type.

The agency emphasized that applicants do not need to contact them if their application is within the expected processing times. This guidance is particularly relevant for Nigerian students, who often reach out to the Home Office or Immigration when they do not receive timely updates, potentially causing delays.

The online tool allows applicants to input their visa category details and receive current estimates on decision timelines, helping them gauge their application's status without needing to contact the agency.
