Umahi Sues Linda Ikeji for ₦3 Billion Over Defamation

David Umahi, the Minister of Works, has initiated legal action against popular blogger Linda Ikeji, Stella Ifeoma Okengwu, and Linda Ikeji TV Limited, alleging a series of defamatory publications. The lawsuit, filed on August 24, 2026, at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja, is marked FCT/CV/264/26.

Umahi claims that between March 2025 and March 2026, the defendants engaged in a "campaign spree" of malicious publications against him, accusing him of bribery, corruption, intimidation, and other serious allegations. The suit states that Okengwu, identified as the CEO of Winhomes Global Estate Services, posted videos on her Instagram, which were then shared on Linda Ikeji's platforms.

Umahi's legal team previously requested a public apology and removal of the content, which the defendants allegedly ignored. He seeks a court declaration that the publications are false and defamatory, an order for retraction and apology, and a total of ₦3 billion in damages, along with a perpetual injunction against further defamatory publications.
