UNICAL Graduate Cynthia Maduekw Celebrates Resilience

Cynthia Maduekw graduated from the University of Calabar with a Bachelor of Engineering degree, crediting her academic success to resilience and discipline. Throughout her studies, she faced multiple challenges, including rewriting exams, departmental accreditation issues, and disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and strikes by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

Despite these setbacks, Maduekw emerged as an award-winning student leader, writer, humanitarian, and entrepreneur. She published a book aimed at mentoring students and has been involved in outreach programs across Africa to impact underserved communities.

Maduekw's journey reflects perseverance and determination, urging students to embrace resilience and courage in overcoming academic challenges. She emphasizes that setbacks can lead to greater purpose and encourages students to persist despite difficulties, stating that challenges often disguise growth opportunities.
