UNICEF launches Nigeria’s first behavioural research lab to address children’s concerns

UNICEF has launched Nigeria's first Behavioural Insights Research Development Laboratory at the University of Lagos, in collaboration with various Nigerian universities and government ministries. The lab aims to harness social and behavioural insights to improve child survival and development programs in Nigeria.

UNICEF's Country Representative for Nigeria, Wafa Saeed, emphasized the importance of understanding human behavior in achieving the organization's mandate of ensuring children reach their full potential. The lab will bring together experts in medicine, psychology, sociology, and nutrition to conduct research and provide direction for government policies and programs.

UNICEF is committed to investing in children as the future of the nation. The project has received support from various stakeholders and is expected to make a significant impact in addressing child and maternal mortality rates in Nigeria and across Africa.
