UNIMEDTH Commends Aiyedatiwa for Boosting Healthcare Allowances

The University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH) in Ondo State praised Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for approving enhanced professional allowances for healthcare workers, which significantly boosts staff morale and improves healthcare delivery. This decision is described as a landmark intervention, making Ondo State the first in the South West and among the first in the country to implement such welfare improvements.

Chief Medical Director Prof. Olumid Gbala noted that the enhanced allowances have already begun attracting highly skilled healthcare professionals, with UNIMEDTH experiencing the highest influx of specialists in its eight-year history.

The governor's support extends to the procurement of modern medical equipment, including a 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner and a 160-slice CT scanner. Additionally, plans are underway for a neonatal nursing training program and the construction of modern residential quarters for resident doctors, reinforcing the commitment to quality patient-centered healthcare in Ondo State.
