United Nigeria Airlines Expands Fleet with New Aircraft

United Nigeria Airlines announced the addition of two new Boeing 737-800NG aircraft, registered as 5N-CFC and 5N-CFB, to expand its operations and domestic service. These aircraft are named to honor distinguished figures: Royal Majesty Igw Nnaemeka Achebe of Onitsha and late Professor Chinua Achebe, a prominent African literary figure.

The airline aims to enhance passenger comfort and reliability, meeting the rising demand for premium travel experiences. The new aircraft arrived at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, on June 13, 2026, with a formal unveiling ceremony planned, attended by key stakeholders including the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development.

Chief Commercial Officer Adedayo Olawuyi described this development as a significant chapter in the airline's growth journey. Additionally, United Nigeria Airlines recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Babcock University to provide a 50% airfare discount for students until June 2026, further emphasizing its commitment to education and training in the aviation sector.
