United Nigeria Airlines Acquires Two Boeing 737-800s

United Nigeria Airlines has expanded its fleet by acquiring two Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which bear the registration numbers 5N-CFC and 5N-CFB. These aircraft are dedicated to distinguished Nigerian icons, specifically Royal Majesty Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe and late literary legend Professor Chinua Achebe, reflecting the airline's commitment to celebrating Nigeria's rich culture and honoring individuals whose contributions have significantly impacted society.

The aircraft arrived at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Terminal 2 (MM2) in Lagos on June 13, 2026, with a formal unveiling scheduled for June 18. According to a statement from the airline, the event is expected to attract key stakeholders in the aviation sector, including the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, dignitaries from Onitsha, and other notable figures.

Mr. Adedayo Olawuyi, Chief Commercial Officer of United Nigeria Airlines, described the acquisition as a landmark achievement for the airline, emphasizing that the new aircraft not only expand capacity but also tell the story of celebrated icons, renewing a sense of pride among the people.
