Tinubu Approves Recruitment of 3,252 PTA Teachers

President Bola Tinubu has approved the recruitment of 3,252 verified Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) teachers into Federal Unity Colleges across Nigeria. This initiative aims to address the ongoing shortage of teaching personnel in these schools.

Minister of Education Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa praised the approval as a major intervention reflecting the President’s commitment to revitalizing the education sector. The recruitment prioritizes verified PTA teachers who have served in Federal Unity Colleges and Federal Technical Colleges for nearly 25 years, allowing them to join the mainstream public service.

The decision follows a verification exercise by an inter-ministerial committee, confirming the eligibility of 3,252 teachers in various educational roles. Dr. Alausa emphasized that this recruitment aligns with the Federal Government’s strategy to enhance teaching quality and restore Federal Unity Colleges as centers of academic excellence.

He assured that the regularization process would be conducted transparently and in compliance with public service regulations.
