Tinubu Approves Recruitment of 3,252 PTA Teachers

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the recruitment of 3,252 verified Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) teachers for Federal Unity Colleges, a decision praised by Minister of Education Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa. This landmark intervention is seen as a significant step in addressing the long-standing teacher shortage in these colleges.

The recruitment prioritizes absorbing experienced PTA teachers who have served for nearly 25 years, allowing them to transition into the mainstream public service. The decision follows a comprehensive verification exercise by an Inter-Ministerial Committee, which screened eligible teachers across various educational roles.

Dr. Alausa emphasized that this recruitment will improve the teacher-student ratio and enhance learning outcomes. He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for this initiative, which aligns with the administration's Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at transforming the education sector and reinforcing its importance in national development.
