CONUA Distances Itself from ASUU Strike, Emphasizes Academic Stability

The Congress of University Academics (CONUA) has disassociated itself from the ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike in Nigeria. Dr.

Niyi Sunmonu, the president of CONUA, clarified that the group remains focused on maintaining academic stability through dialogue. CONUA had protested for the renegotiation of the 2009 agreement and met with the Ministry of Education to expand the renegotiation committee.

Members of CONUA unanimously agreed not to embark on a strike. Dr.

Sunmonu urged members to continue their academic duties and ensure a safe workplace for both staff and students.
